REI KAWAKUBO/ COMME DES GARCONS: ART OF THE IN-BETWEEN

    2. Design/Not Design- "The Future of Silhouette"

This exhibition examines nine expressions of "in-between" in Kawakubo's collection: Absence/Presence; Design/Not Design; Fashion/Antifashion; Model/Multiple; High/Low; Then/Now; Self/Other; Object/Subject; and Clothes/Not Clothes. "It reveals how her designs occupy the spaces between these dualities--which have come to be seen as natural rather than social or cultural-- and how they resolve and dissolve binary logic"(The Met).

The whole concept and structural design in the way that the pieces where position and the color, created this whole idea of "emptiness" and artificiality and it makes think further than the design in front of you. I recommend for you to see this exhibition, it will be open until September 4 at the Met Museum.
    9.4 War/Peace

    9.7 Order/Chaos

    2. Design/Not Design
    9. 3 Beautiful/Grotesque

The pictures above are my favorite pieces of the exhibition. Every year the Met shows a fashion exhibition on different concepts, last years exhibition was on Fashion in the Age of Technology ( I did a post on this exhibition on my other blog). This is a must see exhibition, so if you are ever planning to travel to New York-- it usually runs from May to September.

Thank you for stopping by and have a blessed day!

    DATE NIGHT @ THE MUSEUM

On Saturday, I went to visit the MET with my mother on a daughter & mother date. The MET is located on 86th 5th Avenue. It is an enormous museum with plenty to see!

We went through the left side of the museum, where the Roman & Greek, Oceania, South America, and Contemporary/Modern exhibitions are located. We had a blast and I discovered new pieces of arts that I was unaware of and also had a lot of fun hanging out with my mother. Visiting a museum with my mother is like a walk through a comedy show, she knows how to make you laugh and ventured into places you have never seen--which is how we got to see all these others exhibition.

I know there are lots of pictures but those were the pieces that I liked the most. For those out there who are art lovers, you will fall in love all over again at the Met. The vast collection of sculptures, furniture, and paintings will leave you with plenty to see for months to come. This is one of my favorite museums in New York City and I am so glad I live close by to see the beauty of it.

I hope that you have enjoyed this post and the picture on it. Please share and comment below!
